Kentish Town Day Nursery & Pre-School

Watch our Nursery Virtual Tour

This fabulous nursery was established over 12 years ago and is situated on the corner of The Prince of Wales Road and Ryland Road. We are located in a wonderful old building that was formerly a local school, now with our nursery on the ground floor. We have recently implemented a range of measures to keep all our children safe at this current time. Please view our video to find out more…

We have a long standing and wonderful team of Early Years practitioners with a wealth of experience in providing inspirational fun, education and care for all the children. Our high standards in care and education for children are endorsed by Ofsted, who have rated us Outstanding.

Unlike many London nurseries, we have a lovely garden where children safely play and explore in a secure environment.

  • The nursery is situated on Ryland Road, just a short walk away from Kentish Town Road. Nearby are the stations at Kentish Town West (overland) and Kentish Town underground with direct access to the Northern Line.
  • Ryland Road is a quiet road off the Prince of Wales Road, there is ample space for safe drop off/pick up.

Kentish Town in the Community

A wonderful Christmas message from the team at London Borough of Camden:

“Dear Lisa & team,

As the term draws to a close for many of you I just wanted to take the opportunity to thank you for your amazing work this year supporting children and families 😊 It  really has been an inexplicably extraordinary year and not one we will forget in a hurry! The way you have adapted and responded and kept going, providing a vital service is truly courageous and admirable – you make Camden so proud!

I wish you a safe and peaceful time with best wishes for the New Year, in which I look forward to working with you once again”.

Kentish Town thank you from Barts Hospital 2020

Little Buds

A wonderfully calm and relaxing room for our babies, with space to crawl and explore, new sights and sounds to stimulate the senses, and a cosy corner to cuddle in. Being in our Little Buds room offers under 2s the perfect place to begin their nursery journey.

Little Blossoms

Connected to their pre-school cousins in Little Climbers, the toddlers in Little Blossoms have space to toddle, play and learn in a vibrant and fun room. With lots of creative and messy resources, songs, stories and rhymes to encourage communication, and time outdoors every day. And when it's nap time the children can settle in the soft area and comfortably dream about their next big adventure.

Little Climbers

Being almost ready for school is serious stuff, but at Little Garden Nurseries we believe it's important that learning should be fun. So with carefully planned and structured activities that promote reading, writing, maths and science, children are learning as they play. The Little Climbers room is designed to cover all areas of learning from our dedicated IT suite to the class room based activities in readiness for the next step into school.

What our parents say…

We love getting letters, emails and feedback from our parents!

Here’s just a few we’ve received this year:-

“Our daughter started in the baby room a few months ago and we couldn’t be happier. Every member of the staff is incredibly kind, caring, and fun – she clearly loves them all and comes home with a huge smile every day! In these special times, everyone is doing an amazing job at creating a normal space for our babies to enjoy and are nurturing a sense of community with warm and friendly memos and communications as well as nice events for the children. Finally, the food cooked at the nursery is great and very diverse. Getting your baby started at nursery is never easy and is an emotional step so I am glad to have chosen this lovely place”.

“We cannot speak highly enough of our key person at LG, Kentish Town.  She is caring, nurturing and so clearly focused on the happiness and development of our little guy.  Importantly she is also a great communicator and gives us a clear, thoughtful report on how each day has gone and anything we should be alive to.  Her combination of compassion and professionalism is so unique and just spectacular.  We feel confident and happy knowing she is looking after our son.   We cannot thank her enough for really knowing our son as the tiny amazing person he is, and caring for him as we would ourselves.  She cannot imagine the piece of mind she gives us each day”.

“Our son started at the nursery when he was 7 months old. As a parent, we have always felt carefully listened to throughout all stages of our child s development and throughout the transitions. The staff are great and show real care for the kids. Activities are diverse but also allow a lot of play. The outside area is a real plus. Our son is currently in the toddler room and he loves it, as well as the people who take care of him – seeing him happy is probably the best proof!”

“We are extremely happy with the care our son receives at the Kentish Town Little Garden nursery. All members of the team show such dedication to the well-being and growth of the little ones. Our son (in the baby room) particularly enjoys the music, dance and singing activities, the messy and sensory play, the food, and the social contact with his peers. I highly appreciate that his key person and the team provide such a nurturing and comforting environment while encouraging him to become independent (e.g. eating, walking), a step at a time with his individual needs and personality in mind. I also enjoy the thorough reports of daily observations at pick-up time, and the time the team takes to communicate with parents. Thanks as well for the highly accommodating opening hours, especially key for parents with a long commute”

“Thanks to the team at Little Garden in Kentish Town for providing such a brilliant ‘second home’ to our little boy. He loves his time at nursery and we couldn’t be happier with the staff, the educational programme and environment. I would highly recommend this nursery to prospective parents”

“Kentish Town Day Nursery and Pre School was a brilliant experience for our daughter. Over the last 3.5 years, the staff have helped her learn, develop and grow. They were always hugely helpful and had her genuine interests at heart. When she was old enough, our daughter would often tell us about all of the trips and activities that she had done during the day – from going to the park and the local library to the local farm or even the shops. The nursery became a really important part of her world – she made some great friends with her classmates – and teachers. In the last few months, parts of the nursery were refurbished inside and out and so it really is a great space. Overall, I very much recommend Kentish Town Day Nursery & Pre-school – it has helped prepare our daughter for school and the adventures and experiences that lay ahead!”

“We highly recommend Little Garden Nursery (Kentish Town Day Nursery) where our son spent 2 years! The staff are amazing, the place is really nice and they are doing lots of activities like Spanish Class, Yoga, visiting Farms, library. So happy that our son has grown up in this environment!  Thanks again to the whole team!”

“Kentish Town day nursery and pre-school has been a brilliant experience for our child just as it was for his older brother.
Here are some reasons why we think this nursery is fantastic (not exhaustive!):
– the staff are WONDERFUL: careful, patient, warm, professional, they guide children safely on the path to autonomy.
– the food is delicious, fresh and healthy meals are cooked daily.
– the children learn new abilities and open their minds to the world through various lessons, activities, experiments and regular outside trips.
– there are parties on special occasions (Christmas, Diwali, Chinese New Year…) and even a graduation party for children leaving the nursery for school. They never miss any birthday.
– we have regular feedback and meetings with our child’s key worker.
– our son is hugely happy there, he has got friends and loves the staff.
We have mixed feelings as our child is going to school this September, he is really well-prepared for it but we will miss everyone at the nursery”

“I couldn’t have been happier with our choice of nursery for our son. I was apprehensive about sending him to nursery in the first place but from the moment we went to the Open Day, Little Garden in Kentish Town have been kind, understanding, helpful and informative every step of the way. I’ve always felt that my son has been incredibly well looked after. The nursery is in excellent condition, the manager and her staff are all so friendly and know the names of every child. They take such good care of the children; are always taking them to interesting places like the farm, the supermarket, park etc and have activities like yoga, Spanish music etc. My son loves going to Little Garden and I’m looking forward to sending our next there also”
